Jambo ‘Dragon’ Truong is one of the few selected Forrest Yoga Guardians personally chosen by Ana Forrest to uphold the legacy of Forrest Yoga. He holds a degree in Integrated Health: Complementary Medicine and has special interests in ‘Well-Being & Complexities Studies’ & the ‘Native Medicine Ways’ – Jambo has apprenticed with a range of Medicine People including Senior Shaman from Inca & Classical East Asian Medicine traditions.
Jambo Truong’s workshops combine yoga ceremony and his latest research on Well-Being & Functional Anatomy. He loves to demystify the practise of yoga and meditation and offers sound practical, scientific and philosophical reasons as to why we do what we love. He wants his students to recognise that by ending the war inside, we contribute to the ending of all wars.
As a Forrest Yoga Guardian, Jambo is committed to delivering the healing practise of Forrest Yoga in its most authentic form. He supplements asana workshops with sessions on functional anatomy, neuro-science, applied kinesiology and structural bodywork. He has an immense amount of passion explaining why what we do works.
Some of the most popular workshops, such as an ‘Introduction to Handstands & Arm Balances’ as well as ‘The Anatomy of Standing Poses for Effective Hip Opening’ are what is often seen.
Although these workshops sound heavily based on poses, Jambo believes that the foundation for physical and emotional growth walk side by side. The yoga mat is a safe arena to explore the areas we are working towards as well as the places we are afraid to meet. This safe space is deliberately generated so that we can walk with full integration. All of our gifts and the shadows that we need to snuggle up to.
Jambo’s teaching style is all-encompassing. He loves teaching mixed level classes and is skilled at providing something for any-body to do to maintain integrity to the sequence and intent.
