Scapa Fest 2021 Programme Revealed! One of the biggest changes this year is how we are going to run the programme. Find out what makes this year’s Scapa Fest experience different in the best possible way.

Scapa Fest 2021 is the ultimate opportunity to come together again around shared values and practice of mind-body health, outdoor education and environmental action in a safe and supportive way.

At the heart of Scapa Fest is a desire to improve life, through the co-creation a life-supporting life: a way of living that balances being in the world, of the world and for the world all at once.

As always, the experience is open to beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Scapa Fest this year runs as series of day events taking place from 8am to 8pm each day (May 1st, May 2nd and May 3rd) and framed by a night camping in the estate before and after (not compulsory though, and some people have decided to make use of local accommodation instead).

Each day is designed to accommodate 4 groups of 12 adults and 1 group of 20 children, complying with the Sport Scotland regulations around COVID-19 (from Tier 3) we fall under.

The programme of activities for each day is the same. However, how you will participate in these activities is different depending on the group you are part of. More details about this below.

Scapa Fest this year includes a light breakfast served on arrival, tea & coffee breaks throughout the day and a freshly cooked lunch by local chef Jonathan of the Argyll Hog.

From the inside out or from the outside in?

Scapa Fest 2021 Programme Revealed! On the day, two groups will start they journey from the outside in: they will set off on their journey with a water-based embodied outdoor adventure education workshop on canoes on the loch followed by a SUP yoga class on the fresh water lake. A lunch hour: Scapa FeAst of large pans of local food freshly cooked on the fire will see us regroup. The afternoon will unfold with a foraging session with a medical herbalist and finish in the kitchen to create a herbal remedy, followed by a meditation and pranayama session, which will close the Scapa experience.

The other two groups will follow the reverse journey, going from the inside out.

Seal and reflect

At the end of the day, we will all gather by the fire to seal our experience and reflect on our individual and collective journey.

Our keywords for the experience this year is: earthwise and immersive.

An invitation, an opportunity and an experience

This programme is an open invitation to explore your relationship with yourself and the world around you from the inside out and the outside in.

This is an opportunity to set your mind free, so it can create and engineer visionary solutions for a better balanced human society. This is a chance to give your hands & soul the precious gifts of traditional knowledge, crafts and skills.

We always receive more than we pay for when we get to actively participate instead of passively watching.

At Scapa Fest, the transaction is never complete and closed. We start a journey from which we can only return with more energy, peace of mind and freedom than we started with.

With each version of Scapa Fest, I call for experiences that are intimate, personal, and unique. I call for the creation of a multitude of powerful “you have to be there” moments.

Only through action we become the bridge between the challenging and the possible. Through daily actions, big and small, secret and public, inspired or sometimes fearful and even hesitant.

That’s why I choose to define Scapa Fest as a sustainable living IN ACTION event.
