Q: Is Scapa Fest going ahead?
A: Scapa Fest will be rescheduled to 4-6 September 2020. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly and has been done in order to protect public health. The welfare of our teams and our community is our priority at this very difficult time and we would urge you to follow the official Government guidance to keep you, your families and communities safe throughout this very challenging time.
Q: What happens to my ticket?
A: All tickets will roll over to the new date. If you are unable to attend at the rescheduled date, we will provide a credit towards any future Scapa Fest multi-day events. This process is automatic and there is nothing you need to do.
Q: Will there be additional tickets available to buy for the postponed event?
A: Yes, there will be but we won't take bookings again until we have further guidance from the government. Check our Facebook page for the latest info.
Q: Will the programme be the same?
A: Yes. Although we expect that there might be minor adjustments we'll need to make, the core activities will be there.
Q: What will happen if the travel restrictions and social distancing advice remain in place in September?
A: We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed about the guidance we receive.
While you are here...
Clem here. I wanted to mention that the crew, teachers, vendors and volunteers of Scapa Fest are vital to our event, without them we would simply not exist. This postponement of our event will impact not only our attendees but also our committed and talented workforce. Together we will work within the government guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our team and partners during this difficult time.
Our employees & contractors, permanent and casual, and myself, are reliant on the income which we derive through ticket purchases. Scapa Fest is a small independent business. We receive no sponsorship of any kind. Without the event going ahead as planned it is inevitable that we become exposed and vulnerable to financial instability.
Where possible, I kindly ask that you consider donating the value of your tickets to Scapa Fest limited rather than accepting the credit we already offer.
I thank you deeply for your continued support of Scapa Fest, it is invaluable during these uncertain times.
